  2. White leather cord found at Amazon
  3. Faux Suede leather cord
  4. E6000 glue
  5. Aleene’s fabric fusion

  7. Rotary punch
  8. Screw Punch from Martha Stewart.

I can never find my phone in my purse!

I found most of my materials at Ben Franklins Crafts store in Redmond WA. To make the rectangular purple pouch, you will need two leather rectangles in purple and lavender. Ben Franklins carries an array of different colors. You will also use E6000 glue, fabric fusion adhesive, white leather trim, pink faux suede cord and a few silver studs.

  1. Punch a small hole on each corner of the leather rectangle. (I used a screw punch.)
  2. Use the “male” end of a silver stud and put it through the small holes.
  3. Snap the female ends on to the male studs.
  4. Using a rotary punch, secure snaps together. (If you don’t have a rotary punch you can use a hammer to set all silver studs in place.)
  5. Once all studs are secure, you will finish making the pouch by gluing the bottom and two sides of the pouch. I used E36000 glue. Allow glue to dry for 1 hour.
  6. Dab a Q-tip with “fabric fusion” and carefully glue faux suede cord around the bottom and both sides of the pouch
  7. Add a second layer of glue and stick the white leather cord on both sides and bottom of the pouch.
  8. Enjoy your creation and try different items to store inside your new pouch!

Very nice, love your pouches. I use front pocket on my purse for my phone, has snap to keep pocket closed so I don’t lose phone. Your leather pouches are very portable for many uses, great idea, glad you shared. The leather looks so nice to keep something in. I’d like to make some of those leather bracelets also, think granddaughters would like those. They’re 18 and 15 in few days, it’s hard to find things I can make for them now that they’re all grown up.
I loved our Ben Franklins in Helena, MT. When we moved to MT from San Diego area in ’92 there wasn’t much at all for buying craft supplies compared to San Diego, so finding Ben Franklin was a blessing, spent lots of money in that store for fabric and other craft supplies. When we moved to Bowling Green, KY area there were good craft stores to buy from and here in Grand Junction, CO area we have JoAnn’s, Hobby Lobby and Michaels, all within few short blocks of each other, does make it handy.
You did beautiful job putting your pouches together, great tutorial. Happy week
