Photo Essay #5

It’s almost three o’clock in the morning and I’m still up, watching a documentary by the Foo Fighters and my laptop is running on 2% percent battery. I better save this post!

It’s Sunday afternoon, and I wrote the paragraph above last Thursday night. I was up way beyond my bedtime and for a good reason too! My husband took all three kids camping, and I stayed behind at home, for two days by myself. I felt like a teenager with no parents at home, ate cereal and milk for dinner, binged on TV shows and started reading a new book.

Well, that is not all I did. I was pretty productive and continued to purge my closet, the kids’ toys and anything I could get my hands on I knew I wasn’t using anymore. Aaaah, I feel so “light” and content having gotten rid of so much stuff instead of hoarding it…

It’s amazing how much you can get done when you are not chasing three kiddos around. I had the chance to go to Ikea all by myself. What a treat! I perused their storage area without any rushing at all. Got my hands on this product so my daughter could stash her stuffed animals but still have them on display. I also scored pretty cool paper goods.

The photo above is a picture of the Christmas tags I’ll use this year. Yes, I’m starting to think about Christmas! Crazy I know. I’m a planner, and these little tags are inspiring me in a whole new level on how to wrap my gifts. Think mod and colorful, based on the tags’ color palette.

Finally, I scored a trip to Sephora to buy a new foundation. Such a fun day! The interesting thing about my new foundation is that it comes in a form of a dropper, so you can mix it with a moisturizer and make it “lighter.” I had no idea about “Cover FX” until one of the girls at Sephora, “measured” my color skin with some gadget and matched my skin to this foundation. Super high tech I must say.

I also tried the mascara on the photo above called: “Huge Extreme Lash Mascara.” The description is quite correct; this mascara makes your eyelashes HUGE. But, I didn’t end up buying it and stuck to my budget for makeup. That is only foundation from Sephora and a couple of items from Bartells. Maybe next month I’ll cave in and buy this mascara.

I have to hit the “publish” button and figure out what I’ll make for dinner. Thank you for visiting and reading Photo Essay #5 ;)

There are times we could all use some productive time to ourselves. How nice of your hubs to provide it having taken your kids camping, good for all of you. Fun to be able to shop on your own without having to think of anybody but yourself. That’s not being selfish, that’s taking care of yourself, so you’ll be more content person for them, kids and hubs. If more hubs did that maybe there would be more content wives. And you said you got lot of purging done, how awesome and what a great feeling, Believe me I know what I’m talking about, raised 4 kids, 3 oldest ones pretty close in ages, last one 6 yrs, younger than 3rd., different hubs.
    Enjoy your week
