Dual purpose Easter baskets

Hello! Easter is almost upon us, how are you doing? I’m doing well, and I’m super excited to show you a set of baskets I put together for Easter.

The neat thing is that the baskets will not only serve their original purpose, but I’ll also keep them to organize crafts supplies and doodads. The children enjoy this holiday full of traditions. Even now that they are getting older, the thrill of hunting eggs keeps going on strong ;)

Making these baskets took 30 minutes tops, not including the time I waited for the paint to dry. Super easy and pretty! My kind of craft. Here is what you need:

Materials (All available at Michaels Stores)

From top left clockwise, I used a rectangular metal basket (3) and washi tape to mask half of the basket creating a triangular shape. I applied three different shades of acrylic paint and painted each basket with one color.  It depends on your preference of color palette, I was going for a “pastel” theme and added white paint to each acrylic paint.

Then I waited for the paint to dry for about one hour and when I pulled off the washi tape, voila, my first basket was almost finished.

I have three children, and from the time that they were little, they would say the oldest was “large” or number “1,” the middle was “medium” or number #2″ and my daughter is “small” or number “3.” Another option would be to monogram each basket with the stickers too.

I’m pretty excited to start adding a few candies, one stuffed animal, and a small toy. The kids can’t wait to munch on a chocolate bunny and other candies they love.

On Instagram I’ll post a photo of how I stuffed their baskets for sure! Yay, I’m looking forward to using my new storage baskets after the Easter festivities are over.

You can find all the materials I used at your local Michaels Stores or via the links I’ve put together for you ;)

Happy crafting!

Ursula

So cute! I love the idea of putting a monogram on them!

Thank you Jennifer! My first idea was to monogram the baskets, but then I found that I only had 1 letter “B” left (2 out of my 3 kids’s first initial is B) so I had to come up with another idea ;) Thanks for stopping by! Ursula
