I’ve been reading the blogs I follow, and it seems like everyone is going through an “organizing” kick. I love this, but I don’t necessarily love the process of organizing ;)
Materials & Tutorial
- You will need a sturdy branch like the one I found for my project. Maybe you can go for a quick walk by the lake or beach depending on where you live and find a suitable branch.
- I used “Folk Art” metallic acrylic paint in gold, “Glimmer Mist” ink by Tattered Angels and a white marker called “Galaxy Marker” by American crafts.
- First, apply a coat of gold paint with a brush. Your goal is to use the gold paint to create “bright” spots on the branch. Second, use the glimmer mist ink and coat the “darker” areas of the branch with a brush. This ink comes in a form of a spray, but spraying the ink doesn’t give you a lot of control as when you use a brush.
- Finally, let the branch dry for one and hour and repeat the process above. Use a white marker to “color block” the tips of the branch. Then have fun organizing away your baubles and accessories.
How do you organize your baubles? I’m enjoying having my jewelry more visible. Sometimes I forget I’ve made a bracelet or necklace and never wear it. This project would be a great craft to make with friends. You only need four materials including the tree branch.
Are you going through an organizing kick too?
