It’s Friday; I’m listening to “The Cure” station on Pandora, tackling my to-do list. On my right, sits a binder folder with an online course I’m doing about blogging to take my blog to the “next” level.
On my left, a cold cup of coffee, a little further away unmade beds, scattered toys and such. And now, my phone just “pinged” with the happiest news! A friend of mine just delivered her baby, and they are doing well!
Aahhh, I’m thankful for new babies, my quiet time at home (for the next 2 hours) and my long to-do list. Which pretty much sums up to the feeling of contentment. Are you content?
I designed the quote above in response to another quote I heard about on FB, about how we all get 24 hours, just like Beyonce, and I assume the purpose of the quote is that if we focus and try hard, we can be as awesome as Beyonce!
In my humble opinion, this thought stresses me out… Why can’t I be as fabulous as Beyonce? Then it hits me that I don’t have to do it all, accomplish all and be all. Besides, I don’t have an entourage of assistants to manage my life or drive me to the four places I need to be today on time.
What do I have that I can work with today? I have the next two hours to do my chores at home, enjoy music, get ready to volunteer at school, bring the kids home, spend time with them, break a few fights, make dinner, put the kids down and then collapse on the couch with the hubs. That’s it! It sounds pretty impressive to me that I get to do all these things without the feeling that I have to do it all! Does this make sense you guys?
I hope it does! What do you have on your to-do list today? Are you enjoying what you are doing right now? If not, what can you do to change this? For me, it goes back to my attitude and my choice to have a good attitude, in spite of the nagging feeling that I haven’t accomplished everything I think I need to do.
So0000, do what you can, with what you have ;)
