It has been ten years and twenty-four days in the waiting for our kitchen remodel. But who is counting? Ha! Seriously, I’m super thankful for the changes taking place.
First, let’s take a look at our backsplash. The photo below is the only photo I have so far, and I took it when the backsplash was being installed. The lovely hubs found a pretty glazed porcelain wall tile with a faint marble pattern. I love how subtle the pattern is and the bricks layout give it a modern look.

To the left is a photo of the old countertops and to the right the new quartz countertops. We went with a beautiful white quartz and so far is pretty easy to clean.

We also extended our kitchen island horizontally and vertically. It is huge! The white slab of quartz is beautiful and makes the kitchen a million times brighter. Now we have room for six stools. They will be dark grey and can’t wait to pick them up from the shop we bought them.
The cabinets were maple wood – we painted white and added brushed nickel knobs.
Here is a view of the kitchen counters, new kitchen sink, and runner. The island’s cabinets will be a dark grey and the rest of the cabinets will be white. Can’t wait!
Phew, this is our first remodel experience and so far so good. It is a pain to be without a kitchen but heck, I’ve waited for this forever, I’m taking it day by day, making lunches in our office, eating in our office too since is the only table we have without kitchen items spread out.
I can’t wait to see it all come together! The last two photos are from my Instagram account, would love for you to follow me on IG ;)
