White Autumn Wreath, with circles made out of burlap, billy buttons flowers, cotton branch and sparkly tape.
Fall will be over before we know it, but I am determined to enjoy this season and make the most of it crafting wise ;) Lately I’ve really been into the color white and gold combination. I think is a nice transition from summer’s sunny colors into Fall’s crispier air and golden leaves. This “wreath” I’m sharing with you is a combination of a round piece of wood originally made for making a clock, a few branches and my favorite flowers for fall: billy buttons. I put together a brief tutorial to show you how I made it. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed making this wreath!
1: You will begin with a 18″ circular piece of wood found at Ben Franklin Crafts. Paint this with with two coats of white acrylic paint.
2: I found at Michael’s clearance section a few sheets of burlap stick-ons that worked very well on this piece.
3: Then I started laying out a few branches of billy buttons and figured out I would need a sturdy piece to hold the billy buttons without using any glue. This is a real live plant that you don’t need to water and lasts for very long time. I want to keep it alive as long as I can ;)
4: I had an artificial branch with delicate cotton looking balls I bought specifically for this project. But before gluing these to my wreath, I used sparkly tape to “draw” some lines across the wreath.

Once I decided where to lay out my branches and “billy buttons” I glued the artificial branch to the circular piece of wood with E-600 glue. Then I shaped the branch to wrap around the burlap circles. I tied 5 stems of “billy buttons” to make 1 bunch with leather cord and then I tied the bunch of billy buttons to the artificial branch that was already secured with glue.
Finally, I spelled the word “Autumn” with Kraft letter stickers on mini Kraft pennants. I used white leather cord to hang my new wreath and you can see below how it looks on my door.
Thank you for reading and as always I love hearing from you! I’m listing the materials I used below.*
