Quick Craft: Paper Necklaces

2013/11/05

Quick Craft: Paper Necklaces kraft&mint

My daughter has been asking me to make her a necklace and I had the chance to experiment with paper and waxed cotton cord to make her one. My daughter’s favorite color is turquoise and I stuck with that color to make sure she likes them! I listed the materials I used at the bottom of this post ;) Have you made any necklaces or jewelry lately? For me, I’ve barely delved making a few pieces with one or two tools and an “adjustable knot” technique with charms. For these two necklaces I used 2 shapes of birds made out of white chip board. I cut these at Ben Franklin’s die cut center and the possibilities are endless! I need way more hours in the day to craft ;)

Paper owl die cut, ombre effect with acrylic paint, pom pom trim.

Owl with ombre effect and pom-pom trim.

Materials:
Top necklace:

  • 2mm turquoise waxed cotton cord
  • “Aqua” acrylic paint
  • 1 shape of a bird made out of white chipboard

Bottom necklace:

  • Pom-pom trim from Michael’s craft store
  • 1 shape of an owl also made out of white chipboard

Thank you for reading and as always, I can’t wait to hear from you!
