Parties: Lego Star Wars Party

Parties: Lego Star Wars Party

The day arrived and we celebrated my 6 years old birthday party! It was such fun to see him so happy enjoying his special day with his little friends. I’ve compiled the details and online resources I used to put this party together. I hope my party inspires you to throw a Star Wars party!

I kept the table simple with a banner, cake and few decorations. On the top of this picture I have a “Happy Birthday” banner printed on photo paper and glued to a chipboard pennant from Amazon. The banner was originally designed by a blogger that graciously put together a PDF file with a Star Wars themed banner, party food labels and other artwork. On the table starting from left to right, I framed “Happy Galactic Birthday”. The cake is a 4 layer 9″ inches cake. I made 2 sheets of yellow cake and 2 sheets of chocolate. It was yummy! I have the yellow cake recipe on my pinterest board.

The cake topper is a Star Wars illustration of a X-Wing Fighter I found on Behance (a social network for illustrators, web, graphic artists). I contacted the designer and asked permission to use his illustrations for the party and he said yes! You can view his work here.

I put together a Photo Booth backdrop with two black poster boards and drew some stars with white pastels. Then I spelled “May The Force Be With You” using a metallic card stock and letter die cuts. Finally on the far right, I have pop corn bags with a sticker of a star wars ship.

These are the party favors! I designed these in “Acorn” (a software like Photoshop but very affordable). The party favor bags shows each guest’s name and a star wars ship. I used a font called “Starkiller” similar to the Star Wars font.  In the background I have 4 illustrations of Star War’s ships by a very talented illustrator. His work is on Behance and he was happy to share his work for my party and my blog!

We played a simple game of “How many legos” and kids had to guess how many legos we had in the jar.

Photo Booth and props. The kids enjoyed taking pictures and making silly faces! The props are made out of black chipboard from die cuts found at Ben Franklin die cut center.

Here is my oldest son and photographer! He took the majority of the photos at the party.

We had a Jedi tournament among all the children and they had a blast! I purchased this artwork on Society 6. Please take a look at the pictures of the Jedi tournament below.

My husband ran the tournament and it was a success! The key to the game was to hold an orange with your chin and not let it fall while fencing with your opponent. The first child to drop the orange would have to exit the game and so on until there was 1 winner. I purchased inflatable light sabers from Amazon.
