During one of my holiday shopping trips, I saw a few bracelets made with the same rope that I used above. I remembered I had this rope at home from Craftistas and immediately thought of making a few bracelets. While I was making one for myself, my daughter saw the first one I made and asked me with the cutest high pitched voice: “These are so beautiful momma, can you make me one?”. And that’s how I came up with the idea of crafting friendship bracelets. My daughter has one now and I intend to make her another one for Valentine’s day. I think these would also make really cute gifts for her little girl-friend’s at preschool.
Materials I used
From left to right: Fibre-Craft Chenille Stix, white cord, oblong off-white beads*, sparkly nail polish (here is a link to a similar aqua color) and super glue.
Tutorial
- Place one bead through Fibre-Craft Fuzzy Chenille Stick.
- Apply nail polish to half of the bead.
- Let bead dry for 20 minutes.
- Learn and practice how to do an adjustable knot: cut 18″ inches of cord and wrap the cord like shown above. Secure the cord at the top center with one hand.
- Grab one loose end of the cord with the other hand and turn it backward to make a loop.
- Loop is secured with one hand.
- Grab the end of the cord and wrap it around away from you 3 times.
- This is the cord wrapped twice
- This is the cord wrapped a third time. Insert the end of the wrapped cord through the loop and pull gently.
- Now push back the knot towards the end of the cord.
- This photo shows BOTH ends of the cord with an adjustable knot.
- The bracelet can get bigger or smaller by adjusting both knots.
- Use super glue at each end of the knots to secure them.
- Practice a few times how to make the knots. Once you’ve mastered this technique, place the painted bead through the rope at the very center and follow the instructions above.
- Mint bracelets, my fave color!

My daughter was looking at something to make for her friends, this friendship bracelet will be perfect! She can customized and use the colors that they like.
That’s awesome if she makes a few for her friends! I want to make a few more ;) It gets a bit addicting to try different shades of nail polish! Thank you for visiting kraft&mint and leaving a comment. It makes my day!
This is so sweet! I love the picture of you and your daughter wearing the bracelets! I think my little girl and I need some. (Although she will probably make me use pink…)
Thank you Alexis! I love this picture too. Her little hand is just too precious! Then, sparkly pink would be darling. I was at Target the other day and “Essie” brand had a gorgeous sparkly pink ;) Thank you for stopping by my blog :)
