I’m designing some decorations for Valentine’s day! The soft color pink above along with clouds and hearts inspired me to design a “cloudy” garland with “showering” hearts. Are you throwing a Valentine’s party this year? This garland was very easy to make. Please take a look at instructions and materials below ;)
I used two shades of dusty pink card stock from Ben Franklins craft store in Redmond WA. Once I purchased the paper I could use their die cut center for free! I love the variety of dies they have and for this garland I used a “cloud” and “hearts” die. The first one comes with 2 sizes of clouds. The second has 4 hearts per die and this allows the cutting process to be pretty speedy! Once I had both shapes cut and ready to go, I used fishing line to assemble the garland. First I cut 60 inches long of fishing line. Then I cut 5 more strands of fishing line, each strand measuring 6 inches long. I “sandwiched” the fishing line with two “clouds” and glued them together. Then I “sandwiched” the short strands with 2 “hearts” and used a total of 6 hearts per strand. Finally, I used 1 more cloud to “sandwich” the short strands to the long garland with clouds. What do you think? This craft took a total of 90 minutes. 1 hour at Ben Franklins die cutting area and 30 minutes to put the garland together.
For “styling” the garland I used a glass milk bottle from Paper Source. Then I added a soft pink tissue paper inside the bottle. The cloud topper inside the bottle is made of 1 paper straw and 1 white chipboard cloud I also cut at Ben Franklins. Finally the notebook above is a from a previous craft you can view here. Thank you for reading and visiting my blog! As always I love your comments and they make my day!
