Update: I have not forgotten about St Patrick’s Day! This craft is one of my favorite seasonal projects from last year and wanted to highlight it on the homepage and inspire your next St Patrick’s day craft. How are you doing? What’s new? I’m trying to keep up with my kids’ school, sports, volunteering, and the little things that make life busy and beautiful! Love you and hope to hear from you!
Is time going by too fast for you? It is for me! I can’t believe February is almost over and we are onto the next holiday, St Patrick’s day! I was inspired by the shape of a single clover and a soft green palette. This craft was a nice transition from Valentine’s day and I’m excited to share it with you. I made a clipboard/artwork decor, 1 mini notebook and cupcake toppers. Please take a look below for materials and tutorial.
Materials and Tutorial
For this craft you will need “classic green” watercolor mist ink from Tattered Angels, 1 medium size clipboard, Washi tape (green and white pattern), “Pebbles” sticker letters, 1 mini notebook and 4 wood cutouts in the shape of a heart. First, I began practicing an ombre effect with green ink and water. I tried this on watercolor paper. Once I knew how to mix the ink and water I went ahead and tried an ombre effect on the wood cutouts.
I had a clipboard craft from a previous project called “Washi tape love”. I re-used the clipboard and glued the wood cut outs to create a “lucky” clover. Then I added sticker letters from “Pebbles”. (You can view a compilation of all materials at the bottom of this post.)
I used white acrylic paint for the bottom of the clipboard and the washi tape came from my “olive box” subscription service.
You can make a cupcake topper like this with a heart punch, green and white card stock and glue or a “Xyron” tool aka a sticker maker machine. Please view brief instructions below ;)
First, use a heart punch to make a few heart cutouts. Second, you can run them by a Xyron machine and instantly have heart stickers. Next, arrange your stickers on another paper. Finally, cut the “lucky” clover with another punch (scalloped circle). Repeat the same steps for the “back” of the topper. Finally place a thin wood stick in between the scalloped circles, glue them together and you have a cupcake topper!
I made a mini notebook with 4 heart stickers and the same “Pebbles” letter stickers (the ones I used are no longer for sale, but I found these alphabet stickers from the same brand “Pebbles” that would work.)
Than you for reading! As always, I’m super thankful for you, my readers! I hope I’ve inspired you to start making a few St Patrick day’s crafts ;) Please let me know if you have any question or comments which always make my day!
