Gold and white are one of my favorite color combinations. I was inspired by the Pacific Northwest misty and foggy Fall mornings. The weather is changing fast, and leaves are turning gold. These kitchen towels took an hour to make, using only three materials. I don’t want to use them yet, but only hang them to decorate my kitchen ;)

“Flour sack” towel, “Tulip” soft metallics “gold” fabric paint and a brush.
Tutorial
Use a foam board or a firm surface and secure the towel with masking tape (top right photos.) Start “painting” the towel with soft strokes in a circular motion. Let dry the paint for 24 to 36 hours. Wash on delicate cycle and dry for 10 minutes.
Rain is ever-present at home… so “rainy clouds” made it into a second dishtowel.
I’m thinking of making a few of these for teacher’s gifts or gifts for my neighbors. This project is one craft you must try; I was so relaxed after finishing painting the towels and can’t wait to make a few more.
