When I started having children, I never imagined raising not one but two little boys. I had no brothers or sisters and being brought up in Lima in a household full of women made me even more clueless about boys.
Now my boys are 10 and 7, and I can’t imagine not being a mom to two boys! The boys have made me a much tougher person. I know I am a braver mom because of my two little men keeping me on my toes.
Seven years ago, my middle son wasn’t even one yet when I found out I was expecting my third child. To be honest, I sort of panicked. Could I handle three little boys? Yes! I thought. I knew in my heart that I wanted a little girl but I also prayed God would give me peace that I would be a good mom to three boys.
But God had a different plan, and I found out I was having a little girl. The outcome? I went nuts! Pink, pink, pink invasion of clothes! My best friend already had two girls, and she gave me many hand-me-downs. I think I had my daughter in four different outfits a day.
I’m super thankful to also be a mom of a little girl, but wow, she is HARD. The emotions run wild! She is even more active than the two boys combined.
My daughter will be six years old in a few months, and I’m beyond excited to shop for an Easter dress for her. Though it will take a lot of convincing for her to wear a dress. I completely overdid it, and now she won’t wear any dresses… But a girl can dream, right?
Take a look below at a few mother-daughter dresses combination I put together for you and me. I just heart dresses!
(Mint dresses shown above are from modcloth* and target.)
Yellow is the perfect spring color and if I would live in a sunnier area I would love to wear this dress. Though you never know with Seattle’s weather. A few years ago, we had 80’s degrees during Easter weekend.
- Mom’s dress: Citrus on the Scene Dress
- Girl’s dress: Taj Mahal Embroidered Dress

It is pretty obvious mint is one of my all time favorite colors. What do you think?

Here is another idea for a mother-daughter Easter dresses combo.. It’s not completely “matchy”, “matchy”and the color lavender would work for not only Spring but also Fall.

Tiffany blue is also one of my favorite colors.

The little girl’s outfit is something my daughter would totally wear! I bought the tights on this outfit a while ago (maybe two years ago) and they are still lasting!

One more mint combination. Which one would you pick?

Those are all beautiful! I would LOVE to be able to pull any of those off with my daughter. Someone will need to peel the yoga pants off of both of us to make it happen :)
Your beautiful site today is inspiring me to girl it up a little bit. Maybe I will paint our nails and dress up for Easter this year…..we’ll see :)
p.s. i know what you mean about boys vs. girls. Girls seem more fun in theory but they are tough!
Hello dear! Yes! Girlie time it’s so fun and I hope you carve time tondo your nails and get dolled up for Easter :) I hear ya about wearing a dress and leave the yoga pants behind ;) ha ha
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who considers coordinating dresses with their daughter, haha! You really put together so many fresh, sweet and totally appropriate combos. I am usually a huge sucker for mint but that purple combo is just so pretty!
Thank you dear! My daughter “agreed” to wear the mint dress with gold polka dots from Target… We’ll see ;) I’m not sure what she will pick for me… Thanks for visiting!
My son “agrees” to do things for me all the time. Chocolate may or may not be involved : P
