I can’t tell you how many times people ask me, “How do you spell your name again?” “U-R-S-U-L-A ” I respond. Usually, this happens at Starbucks, or any other place that requires my name spelled. So, I made my bracelet out of necessity and now if someone asks me how to spell my name, I simply show them my bracelet. Pretty cool!
Materials:
- Leather strip from Ben Franklins Crafts store. I found a very similar one for you from Etsy.
- Star shaped bead from Ben Franklins Craft store.
- Silver letters beads from Etsy
- Alleene’s Glue from any craft store.
- Flat Magnetic Clasp also from Ben Franklin crafts. I looked online for the same clasp I used and found it here.
Tutorial: “Make a leather bracelet that spells your name”
- First, I used a sturdy leather strip in grey color. The original strip of leather I bought was too wide for the letter beads I had, so using an Exacto knife I cut the strip to fit 10x6mm alphabet silver beads.
- Then I put the “star” bead through the leather strip, followed by the letters, “u,r,s,u,l,a.”
- I put a second “star” bead through and laid my bracelet flat.
- Finally, I glued a magnetic clasp on each end of the bracelet and waited for the glue to dry for 2 hours tops.
If you look closely at my bracelet, it is starting to get a “worn” look. I’ve been wearing it daily! What do you think?

That is so gorgeous! I paid way too much for one recently and I like yours a lot better!! I love the way the silver metal looks against silver leather. perfect.
Than you! I think the most expensive part for this bracelet was the clasp ($11) I already had the leather and the beads were $9 total. Pretty affordable in my book ;)
