Hello! I had a great three-day weekend with my family and friends and feel very refreshed. I also had time to make a pineapple craft that I’m excited to share with you. My tutorial is halfway done and I’m still sourcing the materials, but I couldn’t wait to post my project so here it goes.
I made my pineapple pouch to complement the soft pink tote bag in the photograph above. While looking for a good bag to travel with, I found my new pink tote which also came with a plain zipper pouch inside. Makers will make so I made an extra pouch for my glasses or phone, making my new tote super practical and the only bag I’ll carry this summer.
Tutorial DIY Pineapple Pouch – Part 1
1) I traced my pineapple template on a thin rectangle leather. Amazingly, I found the same soft pink leather used on the pink tote.
2A) Use a sharp X-Acto knife to cut the pineapple shapes.
2B) This is how the leather looks, once you are finished cutting the pineapple shapes.
3) Arrange all the shapes as neatly as you can.
4) Apply “Fabric Fusion” glue to each shape and glue it to the leather.
5) Once all the shapes are glued, you will add a “white trim” to the pink leather. I used a 0.5mm white leather cord. Download the pineapple template here and get started on this project ;)
