Time is flying by, and I’m inspired to record snippets of this Summer on kraft&mint. “This week” is my first editorial where I’m sharing a little more about my life at home, thoughts and essentially what happened during the week (Friday to Friday.)
Hope you enjoy it and most of all, I look forward to hearing back from you!
Friday is here! Happy kiddos after a hearty meal at one of our favorite Italian restaurants. Love these two! (I have an older child age 10 who did not want to be photographed…) Any of you have a “tween?” at home?
Took this photo from our car (mind you I was not driving.) I’ve always wanted to capture the steep hill on our way to our cul-de-sac. Can you imagine sledding on this hill?
Arrived home! We live at the bottom of this cul-de-sac. Another steep hill… This is why when it snows in Seattle, let’s say 1 or 2 inches tops, schools will shut down, people freak out and stay home. Snow and hills don’t make for a great combo.
“Shhhhhh, mom. The flowers are asleep!” My daughter says to me. These lovely lilly pad flowers were “closed” on Saturday morning. We had another glorious sunny day, and we spent the day on Lake Sammamish. These flowers were by the lake and had not opened up until we got back later in the afternoon.
Flowers woke up!
Sunday afternoon, the hubs took the kids home after church and I had the chance to spend time with one of my dearest friends. We went to a wine festival in Kirkland. The weather was about 98 degrees! Beyond hot for seattlelites. I tasted a few wines and this wine was the one I loved the most.
Today Monday I took the kids to Pine Lake. This beach is five minutes away from home, and I can’t get over what an amazing place Seattle is in the Summer. I say this is a great start to the week. The kids played pretty well, and I sat down watching them while counting in my mind “One, two, three, four, one, two, three, four.” I had an extra child with me, my oldest child’s best friend. Sitting and watching kids swim for a few hours sounds very relaxing, but keeping it real, it is a bit stressful too. I kept them all alive, and now I’m ready to hit the bed.
This is what happens when your cell phone falls into the hands of a seven-year-old. Unexpected “selfies.”
I can’t believe is almost Friday, again! Sometimes I feel I’m living in a time-warp and can’t keep up. Happy weekend!
I found the Kaella tasting room in Woodnville! It’s in the warehouse district. Let’s go pick up that rose soon and try the rest of their wines! So happy to be in your blog post. :) That was such a fun afternoon. Love you!
Score! We have to go Kaellas tasting room. Girls night out? Love you back dear friend!
