It is the middle of August, and I can say this is the first Summer I’m not “dying” with parenting full time, meaning, no school, or camps, or extracurricular activities. Why do I find parenting so trying? Maybe because I am an only child, my mom spoiled me crazy, and I didn’t have to struggle much. As the kids get older, I am finding being a mom a little less physically exhausting but more emotionally driven.
The photo above is from a spray park in Bellevue, WA. We took the kids to a birthday party and hung out most of the day there.
This boy melts my heart. We had a lunch date at his fave restaurant (Red Robin) just him and I. My mom had the other two kids.
Did you ever watch the show “Twin Peaks?” I took my oldest boy to a math tutoring lesson in Northbend (where this cafe is located) and took a photo of the legendary cafe from the cult tv show Twin Peaks.
While my son was at his tutoring lesson, I had a precious hour all to myself! I almost brought my laptop to blog for a bit, but instead I decided to delve into my new book “The Martian.” I’m a sci-fi nerd, and this book had me up every single night. I couldn’t put it down, and it turns out Matt Damon is starring in the film version of the book. I heart MD.
Cute mintish table from the coffee shop I spent the rest of my “free” hour to myself.
These are “linen” threads from “P.S Stores” in Redmond WA. “P.S” stands for “Packaging Specialists.” Two words: gorgeous wrapping paper and stationery. Ahh, a little haven for a crafter ;)
The week ended with some serious glorious time on the lake with my family. This photo is a gift! It took about seven years for my two boys to become friends and enjoy each other. Well, only for moments at a time, they are brothers after all and “torturing” each other is a task they have learned very well!
Thank you for reading my Photo Essay #4, I hope you are having a relaxing weekend and soaking up the last days of Summer.
Beautiful photos!
Thank you my dear friend :)
