Why I’m a dreaming of a pastel Christmas? I love designing vignettes in corners of my home with modern and bright decor. It gives me a high when I figure out a new way to use the decoration items I have and also incorporate Christmas crafts from last year.
Goodness, I can’t believe it will be December in a couple of days! Let me show what I put together last weekend in preparation for Christmas decoration galore.
The inspiration for my pastel Christmas decor started with these darling pink trees that will go on a shelf in the family room. The garland in the background is comprised of an array of soft pink ornaments and white cord I put through each ornament’s top hole.
I mentioned using crafts from last year’s Christmas; these are ornaments made out of thick stock paper stamped with a diamond rubber stamp. You can try this embossing technique with ink and embossing powder. Please view the tutorial for my diamond ornaments here.
Remember the pumpkin leather craft from a few weeks ago? I wasn’t ready to put it away until next year but added a small faux tree with pastel ornaments. The white leather and soft pinks just make me smile.
Last spring, after I came back from a creative retreat, I learned a few basic watercolor techniques and made my “lips” artwork. I think this design is the kind of decoration I’ll keep all year around, and so far it blends well the pastel Christmas tree ;).
La, la, la, is a pink Christmas around here, and once we have finished painting our family room with fresh white paint, I’ll post pictures of how these look. Please, I also would like to add that I do NOT have a perfectly decorated home or a big budget to try a new theme every year ;) Creating these pastel vignettes appease my creative cravings and feed my soul. I believe you can have a lovely decorated home on a budget and still try new things with a little imagination and pretty modern crafts. What do you think? Have your tried a pastel Christmas before?
Love you all!
Ursula

But alas! I still don’t have a tree! Is cool, we are doing what we can, balancing three kiddos, mother-in-law and the holiday craze.
