Hello! I blinked and the month of January is almost over. How are you doing with those 2016 resolutions? On my end, one of my goals for 2016 is to entertain more and have friends over for dinner. Now, if I wait for my home to be decorated the way I wanted it to be, I would never have people over. So I’ve been brainstorming crafts to decorate my home. Is amazing how a few beautiful items can refresh your home pretty quickly.
For today’s craft, I’m sharing with you a woodblocks home decoration idea. There is something about woodblocks that I just love as part of my home decor. I’ve envisioned in the past, creating a line of woodblocks for grownups only. My imagination runs wild when I think of the different designs I would do for a line of blocks.
DIY woodblocks for grown ups tutorial
Materials
Steps
- Apply two coats of white paint to all the blocks and let it dry for two hours
- Use a glue of your choice and add the sequins to each side of the blocks
- Wait for the sequins to be firmly glued and apply one coat of matte varnish
Don’t you think this would be a “happy” craft to beat the winter blues? It helped me, bring more color to my family room, but in subtle way.

Love it love it, when hubs can do some cutting out again we have lots of lumber can be cut in block form. THis looks so fun to have and to decorate. Did you stick things on them, that’s how it looks on my monitor. Would be fun to stick different items on them and be able to redo them when urge takes over. Know it would for me. I Like to change things (except hubs that is, think I’ll keep him another 47 yrs. (we’re 74him & 75me so that might take us to end of life.
Happy life, will be pinning this for when we can cut out lumber again.
