Hello there! It has been a bit quiet over here (kraft&mint), but life itself has been far from calm. It’s a new season in life when all the kids are in school from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm so life should slow down right? Ha! Maybe it has, but I’m not feeling the “effects” of slowing down yet ;)
How are you doing? Have you had time to make a craft for the Fall? This one is my first, a little later in the Fall but I made a wreath, yay.
Materials:
- Big metal ring
- Felt sheet (off-white)
- Soft pink suede leather cord
- Large eye needle
- scissors
- template to cut the leaf
DIY Leaf Wreath Tutorial
First, cut four leaves from the felt sheet using the template I mentioned above.
Put the leather cord through the needle and begin sewing a simple stitch starting at the bottom of the leaf. Make sure to leave 4 to 5 inches of leather cord at the end of the of the first knot.
Continue to sew through the top of the leaf, make another knot and leave 4 to 5 inches of leather cord.
Each end of the leaf has enough leather cord to tie both ends to the metal ring. Make sure you tie a double knot to secure both ends of the leaf tight.
Repeat the same steps for the next three leaves and finally add 18 inches of leather cord at the top of the metal ring. Find a place at home to hang your new wreath ;)
