DIY Blush Pink Pencil Box

My love for stationery goes back to my elementary years when my mom and I would go back to school shopping for hours on end. So when I saw an unfinished wood pencil box at my local craft store, I had to buy it and plan for a quick and fun afternoon DIY.

• Wood pencil box
• Blush spray paint

Let me show me you how I created the “ombre” effect for my blush pink pencil box.

DIY Blush Pink Pencil Box Tutorial

1. First, cover the surface of where you plan to spray paint.
2. Then, start spraying the pencil box lid with one “layer” of paint.
3. Continue spray painting the pencil box. I counted seven layers of spray paint. Starting from the top of the pencil box and working you way down to the bottom. To create the “ombre” effect, you will spray five more layers of paint and the top, slowly releasing the paint until the bottom of the box remains almost untouched by the paint.
4. Once the paint is dry, tip the box like shown in picture #4. Apply seven layers of paint and let it dry for ten to fifteen minutes. The “other” side of the box will have zero paint. This way the ombre effect will be complete from one side to the other side of the pencil box.
