Favorite Books Book Caddy DIY

Hello, dears! Today I have a book caddy DIY to store favorite books or magazines. The primary purpose of the book caddy is to make a few books portable from one room to another.

At home, I encourage our kids to read and have books all over the house. Hence the book caddy keeps me organized. Also, during our night-time routine,  my kids ask for their favorite books to read at night. My book caddy makes it easier to take all the books up and down the stairs ;)

Favorites Books Book Caddy Materials

  • Unfinished wood caddy
  • Mint acrylic paint
  • Pink acrylic paint
  • Washi tape
  • Foam brushes

Step 1: Find an unfinished wood caddy at your local craft store. Wipe it with a damp cloth to make sure the wood is smooth and free of any dirt.

Step 2: Mask the inside of the caddy with washi tape like shown below,

Step 3: Use this creamy acrylic paint! My fave color + when the paint dries, it becomes waterproof.

Step 4: Add two coats of paint to the outside of the caddy.

Step 5: Mask the inside of the caddy where the handles hit the top of the caddy and use pink acrylic paint for the handle.

Step 6: Once the paint is dry, take the washi tape off.

Voila, here is my new book caddy! I’m slowly getting organized around the house and it feels great. Have fun crafting!
