Our kitchen remodel
It’s here! Our kitchen is done (insert heavenly music), and you can see the before photos in this blog post. And, I’m not sure what else to tell you, besides I’m beyond happy plus thankful to have all the work done.
The kitchen may be entirely lovely in my eyes but life is still far from perfect. Ha! I’ve been struggling with parenting the kids. Once in a while, I dream I’m a senior citizen, done parenting and with no responsibilities.
So going back to the kitchen remodel, the white countertops are a dream but super high maintenance. I’ve been using this granite cleaner/sealer religiously. It works great and gives me fleeting happiness when the countertops are super clean.
Obviously, I took my photos over Christmas, I think we had one sunny day and dropping everything, I snapped a few photos for you. The backsplash is from home depot, my contractor cut them into big rectangles and installed them in a brick pattern.
To save money, we also painted the bottom of the island with a dark charcoal/grey paint. Then, we extended the island to gain two more seats and extra storage.
When I look at these photos, I think, OK, I love everything about my the new kitchen and cooking is way more enjoyable with the extra countertops space. Now what? Keep coming back to kraft&mint to see the updates on the rest of the house and the usual easy and modern DIYs :) Until next time!
